Ikosi is a town located in Kosofe local government area, Lagos state, Nigeria. The headquarters of Kosofe is situated in the town of Ikosi. The indigenes of Ikosi are of the Awori clan (a sub-division of the Yoruba ethnic group). This clan is regarded as remarkably hospitable and very peaceful. The people of this town were traditionally farmers. Ikosi is home to the largest fruit and vegetable market in Lagos, which was created in 1979.
