Nsukka is a Local Government Area (LGA) and also a town in Enugu state, Nigeria. Its headquarters is located in the hilly and green sites. Nsukka is directly bordered by a number of cities/towns namely: Eha alumona, Edem,Alor-uno, Opi (archaeological site), Orba and Ede-Oballa, Obukpa, Obimo. There are equally other towns which dwell nearby this area which are: Enugu Ezike, Obollo-Afor (formerly centre of the palm oil trade), Nimbo, Adani, Uzo Uwani and Mkpologwu.

People from this area (indigenes) descend from the Igbo ethnic group. Christianity is the dominant religion here.This town is popularly known for the existence of University of Nigeria, the first indigenous Nigerian university, founded by Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe (first President of Nigeria). Nsukka town currently has a number of Federal Parastatals in the university such as NABDA, CBSS, and the Energy Research Centre.
