As of 2023, the housing deficit stands at 28 million units, requiring an estimated 21 trillion Naira to rectify the situation.
According to The Centre for Affordable Housing in Africa (CAHF), a significant concern is the high percentage (58.8%) of the urban population living in slums, indicating a substantial demand for affordable housing with basic infrastructure.
This is in the midst of fast-growing population, rapid urbanization, rural urban migration and economic instability. This sad development is of serious concern to us at Afri Shelters since, Shelter is one of the cardinal needs of man, as such, we believe every individual, family or corporate organization should own a home.
