About Kwande, Nigeria
Kwande is a Local Government Area (LGA) located in Benue state, Nigeria. The area has headquarters situated in Adikpo. Kwande was created in 1976. It is bounded by Vandeikya Local Government in the West, Cross Rivers State in the South, the Republic of Cameroon in the East while the North and North-West are bounded by Ushongo and Katsina-Ala Local Government Areas respectively. Kwande Local government also shares a common border with Takum Local Government of Taraba State.
As a result of its mountainous nature and proximity to the Cameroonian range of mountains, Kwande Local Government has an averagely cold weather which makes it very conductive to traders and investors. The local government also has very big rivers which could adequately take care of agricultural and industrial needs. Food and cash crops grown in Kwande include yam, rice, beans, millet and palm trees. Other crops like vegetables, pepper, tomatoes, garden eggs, ginger are produced in large quantity attract traders from far to buy in large quantities to other towns and cities of the federation.
