About Ijebu North East, Ogun
Ijebu North-East is a Local Government Area in Ogun state, Nigeria. It was established on 13th December, 1996. Its headquarters is found in Atan town. The local government was carved out of Ijebu - Ode Local Government. On its creation, the Local Government was named Ilugun-Alaro, but was later changed to Ijebu North East Local Government. Ijebu North-East Local Government is bounded by Ijebu East Local Government in east, Ijebu North Local Government in north, Ijebu-Ode Local Government in south and Odogbolu Local Government in west.
The dominant tribe in the LGA is the Yoruba tribe. They speak yoruba and have Ijebu as their dialect. There are also different tribes in this area. The three religions are practiced here, with Christianity and Islam being most dominant of the three. Prominent among the traditional festivals are Egungun Idemunu festival at illese, Agemo, Epa, Jigbo, Raluwen, Lumafon, amongst others.
