Oyigbo is a town as well as a Local Government (LGA), Rivers state, Nigeria. It is a satellite of Port-Harcourt. An oil well is located in this area and it is operated by Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC). Eastern Network Gas Pipeline (Alscon pipeline) passes through Obigbo in the north. Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC and the Rivers State Government under Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi pledged to work together to restore production activities at the Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC operated Obigbo Gas Plant.
The Oyigbo (Obigbo) tribe are of Igbo origin. Towns and villages in this area include: Izuoma, KomKom, Obeama, Afam, Mirinwanyi, Egberu, Ndoki, Umuagbai. There are schools in Obigbo namely: Success Education Center, Rich Model, PHCN staff School, Great Child Education Center, Bishop Okoye Memorial School, Dominican Catholic School, Brilliant primary and secondary school, The Springfield Group of Schools, Sharon Rose Model School.
