About Isu, Nigeria
Isu is a Local Government Area (LGA) in Imo state, Nigeria. Its capital/headquarters is located in Umundugba town. Isu LGA has other villages which make it up, they are: Amandugba, Ekwe, Uburu Ekwe, Isunjaba, Amurie Omanze, Ebenator Ekwe and Oboro Amurie. The name "Isu" was gotten from the Isu people, a subgroup of the Igbo people. Festivals practiced here include: New Yam festival - by all the communities in Isu; The Ibo Uzo Cultural festival; Okorosha Cultural festival; Okonko Cultural festival; Ogho Cultural festival; Wrestling Cultural festival - December, after farming season.
