Katsina-Ala is a Local Government Area (LGA) located in Benue state, Nigeria. This area was created in the year 1970. It has its headquarters in the town of Katsina-Ala. Katsina-Ala local government area is essentially inhabited by the Tiv people with scores of other ethnic groups like the Hausas and Etules who are found mostly in big settlements and the eastern bank of river Katsina-Ala respectively. The people of Katsina-Ala local government area are mainly farmers. Over 75% of the population engage in agriculture. Agriculture is therefore the mainstay of the economy of this local government, blessed with fertile soil, good rainfall and good drainage system.
