About Logo, Nigeria
Logo is a Local Government Area (LGA) located in Benue state, Nigeria. Logo local government was carved out from Katsina-Ala local government on 5th December 1996 by the Late Gen. Sani Abacha administration amongst five others in Benue State. It derives its name from Logo, a River which traverse the local government area from the east to the west. The local government comprises of two major blocks namely; Ugondo and Gaambe-Tiev, with ten council wards. These are Mbayam, Mbadyul, Mbater, Yongo, Nenzev council wards in Ugondo and Tombo, Turan, Ukemberagya/Tswarev, Mbagber and Mbavuur council wards in Gaambe-Tiev.
Logo local government has its headquarters situated at Ugba. Logo is predominately an agrarian local government with grains and root crops as major farm produce. Also, River Logo from which the local government derives its name provides good economic opportunities for fishing while salt is tapped in large quantities. Rivers Mchambe and Kin are sizable and have considerable rainy season flows during which fishing activities also take place. Minerals like salt limestone exist in the local government.
